BEACH TOWN GUIDE

Hua Hin travel guide: Thailand’s royal beach town

A relaxed seaside town 3 hours from Bangkok, loved by Thai families for its long beach, night markets and seafood.

Hua Hin became famous in the 1920s when the Thai royal family built a summer palace here. Today it’s a calm, family-friendly beach town, popular with Bangkok weekenders and long-stay visitors.

The beach is long and good for walks, though the water isn’t as clear as on the islands. Come for the food, the markets and the slower pace.
